Australian-made alloy boats bound for Thailand as Makocraft establishes its first Southeast Asian market.

GOLD COAST, QLD — 28th September 2026 — Makocraft Boats has appointed Vewins Marine Co., Ltd. as its first international dealer, taking the Australian-made aluminium boat brand into Thailand for the first time.

With locations in Pattaya and Phuket, Vewins Marine is an established marine equipment specialist and Garmin Marine dealer, supplying navigation, electronics and boating equipment to private, commercial and government customers across Thailand.

The appointment follows a visit to the Gold Coast in July by Vewins Marine’s Sorakrit Krittiemmek, who toured the Makocraft range with founder Tim Stessl. Vewins Marine’s first container of Makocraft boats is expected to arrive in Thailand in late 2026.

Mr Stessl said the partnership was a milestone for the brand.

“This is a big step for Makocraft,” Mr Stessl said. “Australian-built products have a great reputation in Thailand. They’re known for being robust and reliable, and that’s exactly what Vewins wanted to put in front of Thai boaters. There are other Australian brands in the market, but Billy was after something that stands apart. He saw that in Makocraft, in how we build our boats and in how we present the brand.

“Thailand has a strong boating and fishing culture, and its warm saltwater conditions punish a boat. Our alloy boats are built tough for Australian waters, and we’re confident they’ll stand up to anything the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea can throw at them.”

Makocraft boats will arrive in Thailand ready to come off the ship and be rigged locally by Vewins Marine with Honda outboards and Garmin marine electronics, giving Thai boaters a single point of contact for boat, power and electronics.
Mr Krittiemmek said: “After seeing the boats in person on the Gold Coast, we were even more excited to bring Makocraft to Thailand. We believe there is a strong market here for a well-built Australian aluminium boat, and we look forward to making Makocraft a name Thai boaters know and trust.”

The initial order spans Makocraft’s popular Commander, Barra Pro and Topper Tracker ranges, with models to suit everything from rivers and estuaries to bays and inshore waters.

Makocraft will support Vewins Marine with dealer training, marketing assets and ongoing product support from its Gold Coast base.
